Cardiovascular Consultants of South Georgia (CCSG) is now located in the former Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center along Mimosa Drive.
“To outgrow a location is a good thing. That just demonstrates the growth that we as Cardiovascular Consultants of South Georgia have been able to accomplish as well as what Archbold has been able to accomplish,” said Archbold Memorial Hospital interventional cardiologist Christopher Daniels, MD.
“It’s frequently a big challenge for patients to get an appointment so this is going to allow us to expand our team of physicians and advanced practice providers so that patients can be seen more readily in a timelier fashion,” said interventional cardiologist Clay Sizemore, MD.
The $2.1 million renovation to the 16,500-square-foot CCSG outpatient clinic facility expands the number of patient rooms from 12 to 25 and the two-story layout allows for more office space for staff.
“The new office will provide ample space and an improved atmosphere that will enhance patient care as well as the happiness of our staff and patients,” added Archbold cardiologist Robert Miles, MD.
“Unfortunately we have seen an increase in late presenting heart attacks and strokes as well as an increase in heart failure admissions. It has become clear that at least some of these are related to patients being hesitant to see their cardiologist,” said Dr. Sizemore. “We know that one of the real benefits of the much larger footprint of our new outpatient clinic is being able to reduce the time spent in communal areas and to make it easier to socially distance so that patients feel as safe as possible coming to get their very important cardiovascular care.”
"The board and the administration of the hospital have been cognizant that the leading cause of death across the country and South Georgia is still heart disease,” added Sizemore. “Their willingness to commit to providing the best possible care and the best possible environment for that care in their community really should be acknowledged and appreciated.”
